Hi

I've had a Sena SC10u intercomm on my Schuberth C3pro helmet for several years and tried to update the firmware today using the Sena Bluetooth Device Manager on my Mac. But, having connected the helmet using the USB lead from the charger to my MAC, the Sena manager can't see the device and reads "failed to recognise device. Cannot open USB [1][N]".

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks for that. Do I need to input an SD card too?

Have you got a picture of an original Garmin USB?

I am not sure good a picture of a Garmin USB (or any other lead) will do you.

I bought an XT, which comes with a USB lead, which I leave pugged into the back of my Mac. I then bought a second Garmin USB lead, again for the XT, which I keep in my travel bag. The leads are different. The original lead has no choke on it, the additional lead is longer and has a choke.

I bought the lead from: https://www.activegps.co.uk/index.htm

I have bought kit from them in the past and always found them helpful.

I've had at least 3 10U headsets fail /give grief in a variety of ways . I was suckered in by their apparent seamless helmet integration but in the end I've admitted to myself they weren't worth the grief they caused in achieving (or not) reliable /repeatable comms between devices or other (10u) headsets so gave up when the last one in my TT Adv helmet (C3Pro 10u) failed to achieve USB recognition and then shortly after failed to power on (despite being charged ok) /or respond to a hard/soft reset. So Cardo packtalk slim units now sit in mine and the better halfs lids. The ease of use in connectivity to devices and each other is sublime compared to the Sena 10u. Don't waste too much time and effort on it is my recommendation.
