I do a route on my mapsource and export the file to my device no problems.
Problem is that when I disconnect the zumo and it asks me to import the new route it takes about 10 minutes before the import is formatted and calculated. This is even for the very smallest of routes.
1) Any idea how do do it quicker?

2) Is it possible to send more than 1 route to the Zumo while it is still connected to the pc or does the zumo have to format only 1 route at a time?

3) On another note, what is the advantage of a memory card as far as routes and guidence is concerened? (not wanting any more maps either)?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

10 minutes is excessive - mine takes probably less than a minute, but I'm not sure why yours is taking longer. Is there free memory space in the Zumo or on the SD card (it might need some working memory space to do the calculation)? If you save the routes files in .gpx format from Mapsource, you can write them directly to the SD card under the \Garmin folder. When you switch on the Zumo it will offer to import routes from the card.

You can have multiple routes in one Mapsource file - not sure if there is a limit. It is at least 5.

The memory card is handy because you can store multiple files on there, each with multiple routes, and you can import them as needed. Its also the place to store MP3 files. Plus, you can use it to transfer your routes to another Zumo when out on the road - export routes to SD card, swap card to 2nd Zumo, import routes on 2nd Zumo. You don't need a high capacity card for routes etc. - I use a 512MB which I had lying around. But I don't use the MP3 player.

HTH

edit: above applies to the 550
