hi,

i have been offered a set of Hepco becker upper crash bars but im only interested in them to mount a set of hello micro DE's on, BUT by mate who had the bars fitted to his 1200 reckons there isnt enough space for them without hitting or rubbing on the tank panels...

anyone seen or had the upper bars with micro DE's?

We would have to post the bars to me otherwise i would of course just put them on the bike and try it myself.....:mmmm

hve this setup on my gs, there is no problem fitting the micro de on the h and b bars.
the upper bars are tight as in it can be hard to get the side panels off with the bars iin place, but it can be done :augie

but to answer your question the bars and the lamps do not rub on the side panels and there is loads of room for the lamps

I just re read my message the spelling is shocking, and i have not had a beer yet!

Frank: thanks a lot for the info its greatly appreciated, ill get my mate to send them out to me.

Couple of photos of H&B upper bars. I have not figured out how to get my side panels off as there is very little room. Did get my front engine cover off with the engine bars in place though, just

ta for the pics...

im guessing that in the event u did make contact with something and the tank bars then most of the load is going to be transfered to the frame next to the oil cooler?

That's about right as to where the forces go in a fall. So.......just don't fall over hard with these uppers on if you can help it.:)
