Just cashed in my Tesco points for a Tomtom urban rider uk maps
and to my horror realized when i picked it up that it had no SD card and only 2GB of internal Memory. My Fault not much reaserch done on it, was in a rush as the tesco deal was running out
Anyway after a couple of Hours on the laptop i have squeezed (and i mean squeezed) the latest Western Europe maps on to it, all working sweet voices, updates the lot. will do a guide and links if anybody interested. It can all be returned to original state if warranty issues arise.
Can do it for you if your around Rainbow or Alan Jeffries BMW area.
Going to test it in Germany in August if im not back you know it didn't work :)

The new Urban Rider navcore is pretty good to be honest :) Was debating buying one myself to upgrade from my old V1 Rider, but when I heard they don't have expandable memory, I 'patched' my old V1 Rider with the new Urban Rider software. Probably runs just a little slower than the Urban, but with the 8Gb SD card and the full Europe map, can't say I'm too bothered :)

The extra features from the newer NAVcore (including more future-proof MAP updates), IQ Routes (sometimes proves useful) and the newer interface/glove friendly keyboard does make a difference!

I guess the route you took to shoehorn the Western Europe map on your device was like me, slightly "naughty"

Hi King55,

I’ve joined your club in respect of not doing enough research before buying. I have the Urban Rider Western Europe, and have to my horror found out that since updating the map I now have to choose Map Zones to install on the devise. Unfortunately, there isn’t a Map Zone which covers all the countries I’ll be travelling early summer and there doesn’t appear to be a way to upgrade the internal memory either.

So, I would be very interested to know how I can install the latest Western Europe maps onto it and would appreciate if you could write a guide (for dummies) to do this.

Many thanks in advance.

I didn't think they were going to update the Rider software. What version is it running now?

Not sure if the question was for me, but anyway.
On my devise it’s:
App 9.205.547817.1, OS 547200.
Map is Western Europe v875.3612

Regards
Campi
