USA bike into Canada

Can anyone tell me how easy it is to register a bike bought from USA into Canada.
Is there a problem with the MPH on the speedo, or different specs etc?

Also if you bought privately second hand from USA, would you have to pay tax before registering in Canada.

[The vehicle is entering Canada temporarily. There are five types of temporary imports:

vehicles imported by visiting forces personnel for the duration of their assignment in Canada;

I will be an occupying force for 2 years (sorry I meant visiting)
