I've just fitted a dual USB charger from Motorworks to my 1996 1100GS. It only occurred to me afterwards: this connects directly to the battery so should it be fitted with a fuse? The charger will be used to charge my phone - it is marked 5V 2A so perhaps an in-line 2A fuse on the positive side should go in. Is this really necessary? Thanks for advice.

Not essential, but if your charger lead has a short it could cause a fire... worth doing for the sake of a £3 inline fues
