USB connection probs.

Plug my Garmin 2720 into the USB but the 'pooter can't see it. Checked on Device Manager and the reply is "device cannot start (code 10)".

Any advice welcomed

Are you using the same port that you used when the gps was first connected to the PC?

Sometimes if you dont use the original port you can get errors.

not all usb's are the same, some may be usb1 and some usb2 etc etc, try connecting to a different port and see what happens

I had the same problem with my 2610
Unloaded drivers from control panel and then allowed them to be reinstalled by windows.
Downloaded the new USB driver from garmin site
etc etc etc
Contacted Garmin - they took remote control of my computer - quite surreal.
Then they decided it was ferked so sent back the unit for repair.
They sent a new one back within a week.
