WHY ???????
when you already have the ultimate bike. The ADV 350. 😆

I have this, sealed and unused on my desk, I have two of them in use on bikes already and they are fantastic, you don't need to run it to a Quad lock wireless charger or any other quad lock item, it just supplies USB power and in auto mode, shuts off when the battery drops below a certain voltage to prevent drain.

For me they are handy as the SAE connector is easy enough to unplug, and then I can use with the battery tender if / when needed instead of having additional cables.

Ive got a new Thunderbox PDM plus USB charger to fit to bike .
I’ve also got an Optimate lead to fit .
Should I fit the Thunderbox to the battery and the Optimate to the Thunderbox or should the Optimate still be direct to the battery ?
Ie will the Optimate charge the bike via the Thunderbox or must it be direct ?
Ta

I'm glad that you 'only' drive your company vehicles and that you don't do the electrical maintenance on them - LOL

(There must be a thread at your company engineering workshops that can help? And most likely, enough bike enthusiasts at Fenkenwerder who will have the answer?)

I’ve run this through Google Translate but still don’t have a scooby what you’re on about

Optimate lead direct to the battery would be my preference (or the jump start post if available as on my R1200RS)

Agreed , plus the Thunderbox is only live with ignition on .
Anyway , all sorted . And fitted the USB charger along with my Peak Design phone mount .

Optimate lead direct to the battery. It all gets complidated if you don’t.

He avoided the (possible) complications by fitting a Thunderbox, to power his phone. His Optimate lead, he fitted to power the battery. This saved him plugging the phone power’s adaptor into the Optimate lead each time, then unplugging it, each time he wanted to charge his bike.

The Thunderbox USB charger only has an output of 2 amps so doesn’t seem great at charging my phone .
Might get one of these again which is rated at 3.1 amps unless someone knows of something with more poke . Ta
