Hi, recently bought my 18 1200 Rallye from a Dealer which was used approved. Bike was delivered, no warranty paperwork, rang dealer who just sent me an email with the BMW warranty booklet attached. So I have nothing to say I have a warranty, is this how it is? How do I find out if I have it?
Thanks.

Details and a warranty card will normally be posted out to you within a week or two.

Dealer has to pay bmw uk £500 for the warranty and in my case the dealer forgot, easy way is to ring up any bmw motorrad dealer or bmw uk and quote the vehicle registration number or better still the vin and they will tell you if there is a warranty in force. Ps it wasn't from a dealer in the north east ??????

Thanks Neil, I have just emailed BMW UK with the details. No, Northampton. Couldn't have been more helpful up to the point of taking my hard earned.

Hi, i purchased a used approved bike in February, never had a warranty card just a warn looking warranty booklet .
Nothing to worry about any motorad dealer will know it's covered by your reg number, that's all I had to give when I had my lefthand switch gear replaced under warranty .

Mine was the same but the motor buggered up and as I said there was no warranty , previously on other bikes I had received a confirmation from bmw of the warranty, if one is not received after 4 to 8 weeks always worth checking . Luckily for me it was during COVID and I could not go abroad , had it been before or after I would have been stuck in Europe on a knackered bike I believed had a full approved used warranty when in fact it had nothing

I hit this issue recently - I was told that wef 2024, the 2 year approved used warranty record is now in the 'cloud', so no paper trail any longer.

Apparently the selling dealer can, at their discretion, issue a letter of confirmation. Seems a crazy system.

If you plumb your reg number into the insured warranty site that @Col mentions above (exclude everything on the link after the first 'uk/') it will produce a line of text in red that confirms whether your bike already has warranty & provides a phone number for further enquiries.

Col link will show as broken if you try and open it as its doubled up

Use this

Link appears to be for the Insured Used Warranty paid for by the owner , The 2 year Approved Used Warranty is on used bikes sold via a main dealer and you can only get confirmation of it being in force is via BMW UK or a dealer checking the chassis or VIN
