I designed this tool some time ago to allow me to easily publish Tracks from my Garmin onto a Google Map, maybe of use to some of you.

It needs no installation, just unzip the folder. In the folder you will find...

footer.txt
GTG.exe
Header.txt
Key.txt
Track.txt

You can make a file for conversion using Mapsource, upload the tracks from your GPS and save as Text(Tab delimited). Put the saved file in the same folder as GTG.exe (you will find Track.txt already in the folder, this is a test track file which you can use to try it out).

Run the program using the GTG.exe it should work ok on Windows 2000 through Windows 7

In Source Garmin txt file type the name of your saved track file, eg Track.txt

Output txt file is not needed, it just allows you to strip a track from a load of other stuff to use in other map programs.

Tracks to keep allows the conversion to skip some track points if you have a very long track.

Output html is the file that will be made, this needs to be something like Map.htm and is the web page that will be produced.

Optional Text can be used for the map title.

Convert Track File to Web makes the html file, this will be in the GTG folder. Open the produced file and your track should appear on a Google map.

Header.txt is the data that is already setup for the Google map html

Footer.txt is the data that is already setup for the Google map html

Key.txt Google used to require a free key code to allow the html to work on your website, this is no longer required.
