Using oil and filter that are sitting in my garage for 3 years?

Folks,
I was about to change the oil and filter on my 2006 GS1200 when it struck me that the oil and filter are sitting on a shelf in my unheated garage since I bought them nearly three years ago. The oil is Castrol Actevo 20/50 and the filter is a Knecht OC306. my question is would they be ok to use after sitting there for 3 years? Thanks in advance and apologies if it is a stupid question...wouldn't be my first BTW the bike has only got 14k on the clock.

Oil still in a sealed container? I've used oil that age I'd bought in bulk for my CBR600 with no issues whatsoever. Use it.

Presumably the filter is in a box and sealed in shrink wrap? If you're worried or there is evidence of corrosion then buy another filter but don't throw away the oil
