Fellas, I’m a tad worried about switching out the 3amp fuse on the trickle charge fly lead to 15amp to also power a Rocky Creek Motopressor (it can draw up to 13amp on start up). My point is that if anything goes wrong with the Optimiser it could stuff the battery with the uprated fuse.

Any comments?

Alternatively, I could just slap the motopressor fly lead on the bike as well as the Optimiser one.

Thanks
Glenn

Switching out? Are you American?

Knowing how much you worry just do this ^
Otherwise you will be constantly looking out of your window across to the garage checking for flames ;) :D

Motopressor doesn't draw 13A.

I've used the SAE fly lead on my Harley to run the a Motopressor on a twice daily basis for a week one time when I had a slow puncture. The Harley has a 7.5A fuse inline and that was just fine.

I also keep an Optimate 4 on the bike when it's in the garage and HD obviously think 7.5A is good for the charging circuit.

Try a 7.5A fuse and sleep soundly!
