So I bought the splitter lead for the accessory socket as shown my Wapping in his easy wiring post and a Fusebox, planning to wire it in for my sat nav, USB port and maybe comms in the future...

But I've not had time to wire it all in yet and just used two Posi-Taps into the spare accessory cable to get the sat nav going.

Almost too easy.

Is there any reason that perhaps putting other accessories (UBS socket to power Phone) just posi-tapped into those cables is a bad idea? It runs with the fuse in the canbus right?

I know there is a 5 amp limit and I will fit the fusebox soonish anyhow cos i know it sorts that problem...

Posi-tap seems a great invention and scary simple.

in answer to the second question, try

ditto re size. What guage wire is the standard on the bikes? 16-18? Where did you get the posi taps?
In answer to the second question, try Ebay.

In answer to the first, the Merkins still use bastard sizes on much of what they describe.
Nobody in the rest of the world knows what they are talking about, since all non Merkin countries size wire in sq.mm. You will have to look You will have to look up a conversion chart from metric to arse about face Merkin wire sizes.
