I bought a UTAG last year thinking it was a great idea, but after reading many posts about emergency services not being able to use the UTAG device because of IT Security policies stopping medical staff from plugging stuff in to the USB ports of their laptops and maybe not every emergency service vehicle having a laptop with them at the time of an incident etc, I've sort of stopped wearing it with the attitude of "what's the point, if no one can use it" :nenau but I've now heard about the CRASH card which is promoted here on the Island and elsewhere.

I must admit, I do like the idea of a simple peice of card with your important medical details on it as no pooters needs to be used, but how does everyone else feel?

CRASH card

I heard about the crash card lately, can'y remember where but it sounds like a good idea. Suppose they'll be advertised arouns soon.

You probably do know but I.C.E in your mobile phone as the first number you want ringing in an emergency is also a brilliant idea. Just goes under 'I' in the directory and stands for In Case of Emergency. :thumb2

Sounds likr the same old 'sounds like a good idea initially but actually turns out to be useless' bollox as all the other things, from cards to utags to stickers on your helmet.

It's to make someone money, not to make you, or anyone else safer.....but hey, if it makes you feel better, go for it.

It wont change the fact that a doc won't pump any blood into you until yours has been crossmatched, even if you have 'A rhesus neg' tattooed on your forehead. :blast

Personally I'd save your money. Either you'll be conscious in an accident in which case they'll talk to you. You'll be unconscious in which case the police will check your plates or photo license and contact next of kin and like Fanum says will check your blood type themselves. Or you'll be dead.

Save your cash. All these things are gimmicks :beerjug:
