v Multistrada review

Nice comparison, although I've yet to ride the XR I have ridden the DVT Multi and it's superb, I was pleasantly surprised at how well the suspension coped on single track broken surface back roads and fast A roads alike and the power delivery from the L twin is superb, I was quite taken by it and didn't want to give it back I'm not so sure I would feel the same love for the XR's i-4 engine I think the punch from a big twin suits my riding style better, I should take the XR out and try it, fortunately my local dealership sells both BMW & Ducati so I could do a back to back comparison :green gri

The XR is more of a sportsbike than the Multi, as they've said in the review. The suspension is sportsbike, with a softer setting (which is still hard), so if you regularly ride broken roads, the Multi is for you. It even has an offroad setting!:D

I own both bikes......the MTS has a lot of practical gizmos like very bright and effective lights, superb brakes, good box and L twin character. Plus outstanding balance , agile handling and very compliant suspension.

The SXR is ballistic with razor sharp handling more like a Tallrounder Sportsbike.......the quickshifter is great fun. I do get the impression it is priced up to match the MTS but is missing the bits and pieces like cornering lights, USB ports a go-go, colour screen and keyless start.........it will be heavily discounted and become a great bargain for fun weekend blasts. The naked even more of a bargain.

So in your view, the Ducati is the better machine ?

Both bikes are good and fun in very different ways.

The MTS is probably the better two up due to the suspension and ample room. The BMW is typical inline 4 , much sharper due to the sports bike lineage but fun with the quickshifter. They are sufficiently different to both be winners , nether is a lemon.

This weeks MCN ( Yes I know it is MCN) have the XR on the top of the Adv sports with KTM 2nd and the multi in third place

Glad I didn't buy that shit then , having come from a KTM to a MTS , I'm shocked they think the orange bike is better , handling and suspension are different league on the MTS to the KTM.
I didn't think the new Strada was different enough to the old bike to warrant a change though.

You'll upset Giles with that kind of talk.:rob:D

The skyhook suspension on the new model is sublime have you tried one?

Lol yeah bought one after the second test ride.
It's probably not as fast as my 2011 was after its hilltop trip
Will take this one early next year after I've saved up for the termi system , Almost 2k:eek::eek::eek:
