Hi Guys…

After a long hard cold winter my new F650GS twin needs a little T.L.C and would like to treat it to a really good valeting to rid it of any salt and crap off the roads from the last 4 months of riding it every day through snow and freezing weather down to -14º. Does any one know of a good valetinig service in the north Staffordshire/ south Cheshire area?

I am not being lazy, I have wash the bike down every other day or as often as I could but its coming up to the bikes first birthday and would like to give it a real good treat ready for the warmer months ahead. If anyone is aware for a good of a company or owns one, please let me know…

Cheers

Asking boy scouts to get wet and soapy might not be a good idea though! Perhaps you ought to wash it yourself.

I opt for the put your bike in for a service and it comes back clean option. Works every time.

The bike has just had a service but didn't come back clean!
I have tried to talk the wife round to letting me keep it in the house but I ended up sleeping out in the garage with it instead.
Not really up for the idea of having soapy scouts around the house, could look a bit dodgy...

I wouldn't dream of getting anyone else to clean my bike :nenau

Ever ....

It would be like asking some other mother to breast feed your child

Lucky you, I've yet to find a dealership that cleans the bike after a service.

Amen to that! :beerjug:

I nearly choked on my banana and spam fritter reading this ..

Cleaning the bike? If you must and I mean really must clean your bike, then just a swill down with a low pressure hose just to know some of the loose shite off...

These things look the bollocks when they're dirty ...

I remember my first visit to a Vine's day - the bike had been superficially tarted up (it was still 'magnesium' then!), but still had all the battle scars gained from it's short but oh so fulfilling life as an ORS bike... One guy came up to me and said "It's nice to see the bike looking like it does what it was made to do..." :D

Yeah - it's true

all year biker do the acf50 treatment in various places around the country(someone else may have already mentioned them in the thread).

They were supposed to be in Stockport today, but have put it back to April 11th. Never used them before, but get a lot of good feedback.

It may not show on their website at the mo (they had to re-arrange) but it is on the 11th - I spoke to their man Roy today.

Just google "all year biker" and it'll come straight up. If you book, tell them I mentioned it to you (my proper name is Cameron Hogg) - I may get a brownie point. :thumb2

Edit - I see someone has already put the linky in above. Maybe see you there on the 11th :)

I seem to remember from my 650 single days that there was someone on f650.co.uk who's business did just that. From memory, his handle was Wilber. You'd have to go up to town though.

Lets cover the basic problem with letting anyone else clean your bike/car.

There's always the possibility of a numpty dropping a sponge into a load of grit & then deciding sponge is clean enough to clean all your plastic parts.. .(the last full stop was added for effect. The mind numbing ability of humans to do stupid things is great really! go see www.liveleak.com)
