Just before I post a full set of vario luggage for sale, does anyone know if the vario mounting plate would mount to a adventure rack. Someone with this rack may be interested in back box, and I dont want to sell the luggage bridge/hand grips from the GS.

Thanks,

Bill

The top box will not fit without an adapter. You, or the prospective purchaser could buy one from Mark Hooten, a fellow tosser. You can check his products out on his company website - cymarc in a google search will come up trumps.

No link with him or his company.....

Sorry,
Forgot to ask,
Can you use the adventure rack with vario panniers on an adventure bike? Will the vario mounting arms fix ok?
Thanks,

Bill

I believe they fit...... However, I put the GS rack on mine, so no guarantees.....

'Nice and Fat' has Varios on his GSA. He would be able to tell you for sure.

Varios fit the 1200 Adv, but you need to lose the original tail rack off the bike.

You also need the small plastic inserts for the clamp sockets in the pillion.

The rack you must remove below

Knew you would be able to provide gospel Paul. Wish you kept the TT moniker....far easier to relate to

Cheers

I guess you are talking about Vario topbox to GS Adv?

Remove the rear rack (removed to allow fitting of the pannier rails) , and offer up the tripod mount/adaptor plate to the rear of the bike - bolt on where the bolts land.

Make sure you check the protrusion of the mushrooms for latching on the panniers - the height is critical. (do a search for that dimension - on this site)
