vario paniers on the adventure

i saw a adventure today with vario paniers fitted,,,,,,,but what is the gripe it seemed to still have the adventure rack in place.....thought this was not possible unless tou removed thr rack.....and fitted the vario brackets.........anyone seen the same??????

On my 2006 Adv - the vario mounts use the same boltholes as the original rack - so there didn't appear to be compatability.

That said - with spacers/longer bolts, perhaps it's possible?

The rack and the panniers can't both mount in the same hole so the rack must have been modified to fit on the bike some other way
