hi,
am new on the forum. Have just bought a set of panniers for my GS1200. Any hints or stories? I've not fitted them yet - bought on e-bay
Are their fitting instructions available. Haven't opened the boxes yet so have not seen

thanks

Carl

Glue the rubber feet on, otherwise they will go walkabout, if they haven't already..

What's the waterproofing like on these as standard?

Are inner bags a necessity?

Can you get a ff helmet in the right hand one?

I read somewhere that you may have to adjust the mushroom-headed bolt thing to get a good fit.

Also, its possible to "code" the locks to your key by opening the barrels up and swapping some of the mechanism bits around, although you end up with less than the full set so its not quite as secure as having the BMW official "code" process done on them. Not sure which web site I saw this advice on though.

Waterproofing OK on mine but I use inner bags just to be sure. A Black bin liner will do just as well as the pukka inners and I'm sure Main Event do a replica of the stock inners but for signifcantly less. Personally I have the BM inners which are pretty nifty bits of kit but each to his own.

I can get my AGV V-Flyer in the top box or the rhs box. I also have a Schuberth Concept and this only fits into the rhs.

Yup u r right about the mushroom. Doo a search on here and I'm sure you'll find the measurerments.

It is possible to do the lock barrels and again a search on here should find the details. I got my dealer to do mine so I can't really help.
