Vario Top Box and plate

Hi all

Sorry for the additional message regarding luggage. I want to replace my universal top box with a vario one. I see there are different types going from the 1200 to the 1250. Are the mounting plates universal across both?

Any help in understanding this would be greatly appreciated.

This is the mounting kit that you will need in order to attach a BMW Vario top box to your 2013-later R1200GS LC. Please note that the Vario top box itself is sold separately.

This is part you need, just swaps with plate under existing rack. Shame you aren't closer as I have case (with back rest) and plate for sale in Dorset.

That's the one, it fits both the 1200 and 1250 (I've had both and transferred the plate across from the 1200 to the 1250) it's a bit of a piss take IMO as the vario top box will fit direct onto my RS rack, but needs the adapter plate to fit the GS, which is the bike it was intended for. Why they didn't fit the adapter plate as standard on the GS is beyond me
