can the bulbs be taken out of the vdu and be replaced, i heard they were inbuilt?(1150)

the vdu is backlight with leds built into the pcb mate. you "could" replace them but ye gods itll be a t***!

cheers 4 that
dont suppose anyone knows what voltage they are?

carl was looking into repairing one... but i think after looking at it he gave up as they are so teeny weeny the soldering will be a swine. You could ask him if he knows.

yours gone awol or something?

you could check the voltage with a multimeter over the contacts.

Im a mech' guy, not this lectricky. All i know is when the magic smoke comes out, it stops working :(

Yeah they are surface mount LEDS, and you have to seperate the LCD display from the PCB along with the contacts... I was messing with a faulty one with the idea of changing the backlight colour, but decided it was too much hassle :D and didn't want to risk buggering up a good one.
