Very poorly GSA

As some will know i have just bought my first GS.

Having had it a week and after a couple of jump starts i realised the battery was past its best.

I have just replaced the battery with a West Co one and have a major issue.

It wont run!

I pull on fully the choke (i know its not a choke) and start it. Its lumpy as hell and popping. I leave it until one bar is on the temp gauge and release the choke. Dead.

I start it again (has to be on full choke) and turn the choke off but hold the throttle. Two bars on the temp. Release the throttle...dead.

All this time its popping and backfiring mildly.

I dont know what to do know. Its not in a state to ride or limp to a garage. I am starting to think i have bought a lemon.

no mate have a look at your throttle cables where they enter the bodies check that the sleeve hasnt jumped out and is not seated properly pop it back in then hey presto she'll run like a dream

yup i got caught with my first gs about 4yrs ago feckin crapped myself thinking i had fecked up my bike
