Ive got a twin cam 61 plate with 8500 on the clock, so almost run in!
I am getting a buzzy vibe through the bars at aroung 4,000-4,500 revs, ideal bimbling speed. Anyone know of a rubber mounting for the bars that might help? I have had grip puppies in the past but they are too bulky for my liking.

Cheers for any suggetions, :beerjug:

I would check the following bud for starters,

1. wheel balancing of front wheel :thumb2
2. correct tyre pressures :thumb2
3. dodge tyre :clap
4. balance of the engine ( carburation, blocked jets , plugs, throttle bodies, etc) ::rob
5. something loose.

hope this helps :nenau

Do you have engine bars fitted? Could be something as simple as the bars are rubbing against part of the frame, e.g. being pinched a bit after a low-speed or even stationary drop.

Throttle body balance?

Bikes a 20i11 plate twin cam was "SERVICED" BY bmw but only because it was in having warranty work!

I think the revs are the important bit, if it drop the clutch and rev you can feel the vibes coming in. This lets out screens, wheels and other running gear bits, no crash bars so down to the engine.

I was told that the throttle bodies are different sides left and right. My gut feel is that I use Scrimingers to service not usually dealer so and attempt to cause me to distrust independants.

My old Trumpet trident had rubber mounted bars, trying to sort something like this out. I did remove bar risers as they made it worse.

Wolastons offered to let BMW ride it weeks ago because I complained but I have hear sod all since then. Never been the same since their buy out.

As mentioned above you should check out the obvious causes. As my bike gets closer to it's 12000mls service I could feel the vibration more. After the throttle body balance all was ok. I noticed that the French Auto route is very smooth and I feel less vibration through the handle bars than when riding on UK motorway. Grip puppies from Sportouring sorted a lot of the vibration and suits my hands better. It does have the effect of making the twist grip more sensitive for your inputs.

ads mentioned grip puppies are to big for my little hands! The bike was serviced 2,000 miles ago so should be sorted on throttle bodies. I mentioned excessive vibration at the service but this doesnt seem to be a problem for the dealer!!!
