I just got my new 1200GS and have just clocked the first 120miles.:bounce1

I can't get over how smooth the engine is up to 4k revs (70mph in 6th). And thats something coming from someone who's spent the last 6 years sat on a Pan European. I notice the vibes coming in after 4k which is a shame as I normally like to sit at 80mph on the motorway.:blast

Is this about right on the 1200GS?:nenau

(As I'm still running it in, I haven't dared go past 4.5k revs to see if the vibes go - but that'd be up towards 90mph anyway!)

Your used to the smoothness of an inline, twins tend to be a bit more vibey.
With the fact that your running it in doesn't help. With age the vibes go away, but a GS is not really run in till it's done about 30,000 miles and thats about the time it stops using oil, so long as you use the proper oil

Mine vibes between 65-75, after that it smooths out. Perfectly happy between 80-85. (Thats kph, obviously officer :augie ) 20,000 on the clock, wrong oil all its life.

Thanks. At anything less than 70 you'd be forgiven for thinking you were on an in-line 4. I guess a slight vibe over that and with the prospect that it'll reduce in time is testiment to the balancer shaft they've fitted.
