Sometimes someone will email me a picture (photograph) and when I open it by double clicking on the icon in the email, it will open in Windows Paint.

Trouble is that they're sometimes too big to fit on the screen, and I have to scroll around to see the whole picture. I can't find any way to reduce it so I can view it on full screen.

Even if I print it out, it will print on several sheets... which I then have to sellotape together.... which is a right PITA

This on Windows 98

Please help!

Will

If you have a look at the photo posting FAQ you will see that it shows you how to resize using Irfanview.
This will be fine for letting you resize to look at on your PC screen.
If you want to print them in largish format... say A4 size you will need to play around with a couple of the settings.

PM me if you need help.

Oh.. just another thought.
If you just want to view it... and I don't know if this works the same with win 98...
but, right click the picture icon, then click "open with" and then click "Windows Picture viewer".
That works with XP, but as I said, not sure about win 98.

You can resize within Paint, goto image>stretch/skew (Ctr W) and the in the horizontal and vertical boxes enter a % make them both the same then click ok and then save as.

Hope this helps Pete A

....or: if you just want to look at the pics, re-associate .bmp files with windows image viewer which will resize to view anyway.

not having used w98 this millennium, i will have to leave it someone else as to how to do the actual re-association :D
