Vin and engine numbers don't match

I’m new to the forum just thought I would add my thoughts
I understand that from 1985 onwards numbers match in a different way
My 03/85 r 65 ls has an engine number starting 11 85 which simply means 11 th week 85 so the numbers match
Vin is on the black and silver tag but it’s also engraved into the frame next to it
It has no engraving next to the oil dipstick
