Vines - thumbs up from me!

Excellent news!! :D

Thanks for chasing this up for me Darren:thumb. I'll be popping in later on today or tomorrow.

Chris.

Well, can I say a big thank you to Vines of Guildford. I went over on Saturday from the island and was made to feel very welcome, ok, so I was buyin a new bike but still, the staff were polite and courteous, I was given a hot drink on arrival as I was wet and cold from the riding up in the rain. Special thanks to Bill Barnes who I had dealt with earlier in the week as well as Saturday. We have been to CW, BS (when it was SPC) and now Vines and I can honestly say that they have all been nice, helpful and friendly people :thumb2

I had my first Vines experience on Saturday, have to say im very impressed, I spoke to Penny, clothing sales, she was great, very well imformed, so much more enthusiastic than my usual haunt, refreshing, i will be back ! Thanks !

Well, I won't have to worry about BMW clothing, as none of it even comes close to fitting me. As for the bike, we shall see on Tuesday when it goes in for first service.

So far everything has gone smoothly, from the 4 pre-purchase test rides (hey, they kept offering, and I'm too polite to refuse), p/x of the old bike, finding the right bike from stock, paperwork, collection etc etc.

Got away early today and thought I'd pop in to Vines on spec to get their views on a patch of corrosion on the front engine plate, as I had heard that some had been replaced under warranty. See below:-

Keith Spouncer came out took one look and said yes that will be replaced. :)

I went back in hoping that I would be able to book it in in the next few days/week when Keith said can we keep it in now, you have a loan bike, we'll get it done tomorrow.:eek:

Cathy kindly brought me a coffee whilst we went through the paperwork:thumb2:thumb2

Now that's what I call service. Thanks to you all.

I think the phrase is "institutionally shite". They are the quintessence of the take-yer-cash-in-a-blink, but do nothing else that requires a modicum of service, attention, or even bog standard doing the basics well.

Oh - and I forgot. When I brought the bike, I got a nice letter thanking me for buying a car from them. Thought about sending back a recognition guide, suggesting that they concentrate on the differing number of wheels involved.

Big twin, sounds as if you like Vines, What does 'brought' mean do you mean Bought - ah yes a mistake. Oh Dear so we all make mistakes.

CHAP:: chill man.

If you do a bit of checking you will find that BMW were making bikes long before they made cars. So the reality is all those Beemer car drivers have bought cars made by a bike maker.:D
