vista drivers

I've just got a new laptop with windows vista and can't get it to see my zumo 500, tried all sorts to find the drivers for it but to no avail, any ideas?

Have you updated mapsource?

Plugged mine in and found them straight away, just followed the instructions.

If that doesn't work, see if the zumo is being found as something else in the hardware section, and unistall in and start again

I'm on vista also running with latest updates, no problems at all

When ever I plug the zumo in the laptop it comes up with unknown device then does a search for the drivers with no success, been to the Garmin website with no luck there either, worked fine on the last laptop

ok try this one.

Go to the garmin site and download the latest updates for mapsource. Then run the update, dont update from inside mapsource as it only adds what it needs. Once the update is done run mapsource and connect the zumo (dont connect before the update or during) it should be working now.

You can check the driver versions for USB from inside mapsource. Go to Help, About Mapsource, and USB driver Versions, should look like this

thanks for all the help but yesterday Dickieboy visited and reloaded windows as there was a limewire bug that we could'nt get rid of. After that was done everything was straight forward, cheers
