Hello all.
I have been installing beringer Radial Clutch/brake masters
on my bike, and of course I wanted to follow BMW´s recomendations( not Beringers) , I put Vitamol in the clutch system.

It has caused my seals to leak, in the beringer clutch master, they are all swollen up, and will have to be replaced.
The question is: Why shall I use Vitamol V10 in the clutch
system, and not Dot 4 ?
will I harm the slave cylinder ( Magura) ?
I know that I will get a slightly slower reacting clutch,
with the Dot 4, course of viscosity.
And I know that the Dot 4 will need replacement every
year, the Vitamol lasts forever, but BMW must have
choosen the Vitamol for a better reason.
The HP2 is a " desert Racer", and it is easy to get Dot 4
in remote areas, but try to find Vitamol V10 out there.
I hope somebody can help, I need a quick repair,
otherwise my trip to GS meeting in Holland will be
exciting, with a leaking slave cylinder, caused by the use of Dot 4.

Clutch Fluid

as far as I know , the clutch fluid is a mineral Oil , and not a BRAKE Fluid
so they are not interchangeable , magura make a special oil for the clutch as do KTM and is shown in their catalogue

it looks like berringer say they want brake fluid in their master cyinder , but what do you do with the Slave cylinder on the clutch pushrod ?

hello.
I have ordered a rep. kit from beringer, to use in the slave cylinder, at the engine end.
Then I schould be able to use Dot 4, all the way, with no harm done.
What is the special oil for, is it mineral based, or can it be used with the Beringer instead of Dot 4 fluid.
