...had a light switch momen last night. If you've got suspicions about your VOES, doesn't it T off the same vacuum line as the petcock? You know, the one that caused grief at Le Hog? Haven't got any Evo stuff to hand to check that out...and, as usual, I may be barking up the wrong tree.....:D

Can't you test VOES operation with a strobe light?

I would assume so...but there is a quick check which involves taking the electrical side out of the circuit (disconnect or earth- ? ) and seeing what that does to idle revs. I'll see if I can dig out an older manual to check. However, vacuum leaks will cause the fecker to "play up" and I know Twizz's bike has had issues in that area....:D

It just pulls down to ground selecting another curve when it does kick in. You just need a hand vacuum pump to test it and a continuity tester. if you have a gauge on the pump you can see what vacuum it pulls in at. Mine connects to the inlet manifold. That would be the same connection as a vacuum fuel tap.

Hi All, my VOES is fine, reason for reading up is i have some suspicion around the connecting HD parts, which are hard pipes with push fit connectors... i was looking at the VOES "plumbing" diagram in the manual thinking about replacing all the lines with new 5mm vacuum pipe from the local motor factors.
It’s a "low pressure" system so soft lines should be fine.... the "bodge" carried out in France where we plumbed in the carb overflow pipe still works fine today….
What with Le Hog and the Badenas trip I can ill afford a problem caused by the roadside repair…( if I did I would deserve it…..)

I wouldn't worry about a trifling vacuum pipe....we all know the thing to really worry about is your drive belt.................

or a puncture... don't forget the puncture..... ( I have tubes... as the alloy wheel "leaks" )

..or that rumbling wheel bearing that you had last time...you have fixed that, right?

Nah, that's not a wheel bearing... It's the big end!! But don't worry it's a Timken!!
