Hi,
So I've been failing to get an answer from Virgin Media about a problem with VoIP. Essentially I get one way audio when connecting to the work Asterisk server through any softphone on any device - but when I take these devices onto any other network they all work fine.
I'm sure it's the Virgin Media network but they don't seem to even understand what VoIP is and I've pretty much had enough of them now.
So the question is (unless any of you know how to make this work with Virgin) who to move to? BT Infinity isn't available in my area until end of 2012 - but I'm open to suggestions. My VoIP is going to replace the landline so I don't really need a broadband/phone package - just the broadband.
My project for next year is to set up my own mailserver, fileserver and Asterisk server from home - all will get light use and I'll probably go down the DynDNS route rather than paying for a real static IP address.
The real question is - who to go with as my ISP?
I've been a Virgin customer since the very early days (Pre-NTL World even) so I don't have any other experience really apart from a UUnet account in 1997.
Who's going to provide me what I need?
