Antivirus software is much more suited than a firewall as I'm running the very latest version of Black ICE Defender (released 28th July 2003) and it still let the required file (msblast.exe) slip through onto my PC :(

Had my home office PC shut down on me yesterday...

We've had the msblast.exe run a muck in our company but could not find it on my PC.

Whatever got into mine shut down my Norton and all other applications... full re build required.

Which is just great when I'm in the UK and my office is in Amsterdam and I've got a major RFP to be completed by Friday!!!

More virus warnings

In addition to the msblast virus, which has taken its toll though my office there are 2 others to look out for - Mumu.A and 32.welchia worms. Symantec have fixes out for these as well. I have copies of the files if any one wants a copy. The Symantec antivirus latest update protects against the msblast and I guess there will be an update in the next couple of days to cover the other two worms.:spitfire
