ok i know theres not much point in enabling this for on road use, but for geocaching and other non biking use it gives better accuracy, but will it significantly reduce battery life....its only an extra couple of satelites to track so it shouldnt make a lot of difference shoutd it??

"Better" accuracy with it depends on if you can receive the signals from those satellites. On Garmins it's not extra but different ones, ie non waas 12 satellites was enabled still 12, so I'd guess it won't affect the battery life.

Hi

I have the Garmin Street pilot 2610 with WAAS system on and didn’t think it would work in the UK but it does

I have found with WAAS enabled the accuracy is within 6 feet… when off it jumps up to 17 feet plus so I leave mine on all the time

I haven’t noticed any difference in performance with either setting (its there so I will leave it on)

Hope this helps
