Off the wall ...On the case
Having been down to Cambridge and back last week and Rainbow and back (twice!) on Friday I am getting sick of cleaning trou and boots. Already have Dutch hugger and flap fitted Any experience of Wallies -or other suggestions?

I've had a set of wally flaps for a while now.. I reckon they do an excellent job of 1: keeping the crap off your boots
2: keeping your feet warmer

Added to that you can remove the actual rubber flap from the mount in extremely hot weather...

Saying that I felt no need to do this in the heat of an English summer.

The only down side IMHO is the fact that there is no brace across the rubber flap, so at times the flap is blown back onto your foot. This hasnt caused me a problem but i have noticed if you are going at speed and stretch your legs, the flap may get in the way when you put your foot back on.

Hence.... Since mine have been damaged when i was punted off a couple or three weeks ago i need replacements.

I've decided to go for a pair of Civils flaps, as they are braced at the rear to stop them blowing back. They are also available in plain or anodised.

the issue of removing the rubber bit in hot weather doesn't become a problem to me, as it never gets hot enough for the windflow (or lack of it) to make things uncomfortable.

Civil advertises in the innovators and vendors section

Just my tuppence worth...

Having just vome home from a long-ish ride out in pouring rain and muddy roads, I can confirm that the chap in the group who had said flaps had a cleaner bike, and much cleaner boots/trousers.

Richard

John T has some fitted - Have a word and see what he thinks.

Work well at keeping mud and crap off boots etc..........

Only downside is that the rubber gets worn away quickly when cornering on a GS :D

If you have really had enough bung them on! I've had flaps fitted on several airheads, they work well and are a discrete extra bit of weather protection. Civils flaps with the brace sound good.
Flaps plus screen, hand guards and a big tank give a lot of shelter to get behind in the wet...
