You're very welcome Ric, I'm so glad you could make it again. it was a pleasure to spend the day riding behind you and your 'very smooth lines'. We had a successful day all in all and I'm glad to see that the donations are still coming in. I'll keep you posted when we finalise the total and I hope I see you again well before the next charity day. Take care, Jo xx

P.S I think that was the best photograph taken on the day :-)

I was only on the fringe of this (I never met any of the riders being remembered and am not into group rides) but it was good to see so many people turning up to pay their respects and support such a great cause. :)

Then we were honoured that you turned up and met us for breakfast Rob. Thanks again for showing your support and for your kind donation. Jo xx

For those who are interested and those who supported us last Sunday, here is a fundraising update from Pam (Club Social Organiser, W-ton Advanced Motorcyclists) :

Just a quick update on the total for the Charity Ride.

As of today, the total amount raised stands at £842.00 for Compton Hospice.

This is a combination of donations my Just Giving of £280 and £250 on Jo's and £312 cash from ticket sales after the cost ( £235) of the "breakfasts" were taken out.

So just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou to all those who have donated and helped us raise this outstanding amount. I am still begging for more on my Facebook page and it would be nice if we could get this up to over £1000.00 don't you think? This latest event means that W-ton Advanced Motorcyclists to date, have raised in excess of £10k for Compton Hospice in recent years since Paul died.

Compton Hospice cares for terminally ill people in the Wolverhampton and surrounding areas. They offer care and support to people and their families with life limiting illnesses and are solely reliant on charity from people like us.

Paul "Bobble" Morrey was admitted to Compton Hospice and cared for by the dedicated staff who made the last month of his life as comfortable as can be. They even sorted out a Wi Fi connection at the hospice as they didn't have it already, so Paul and other younger patients could use the internet. In a bid to please Paul they also happily allowed Boz, his favourite dog visit him in his room whilst he was a patient. All these little things make a difference and this would not happen in a NHS hospital for sure.

We chose Compton Hospice as our "charity" to remember both Paul and my partner Maico and to help give other people the care and support that Paul, Jo and their family received when that awful time came.

Remember you can still donate by clicking on the links below.
Please feel free to make a donation ( even if you can only spare us £1.00). Every little helps as they say.

It was great to see people turn up for such a noble cause and all enjoy the ride.

Well done Jo and Pam for organising the WAM Memorial ride and the ride leaders who kept every one together.

Hope the total exceeds expectations.
I did have a great day :thumb2
