want a Zumo 550

Thunder, If you put MP3’s on an SD card, can the Zumo play them, or do they have to be in the Zumo’s internal drive?

Cheers, Martin

The SD card can handle MP3 files and jpgs, the Zumo automatically loads them into it's playlist everytime you update the card.

Pretty good system as you have lots of space on a 2gb card which are relatively cheap these days. :thumb

Pah!!! 486 mb :( :( :( Still, gonna get a 4 or even a 6 gb sd card :D :D :D , That'll do for my needs! I love it now I'm getting used to it. Very user friendly and nice and clear too. It's easy to use with gloves and not that different from the Tom Tom. I like the way the map gets larger automatically when you approach a feature such as a junction, turn or roundabout. Alll in all, I'm pleased so far. :bounce1 :bounce1 :bounce1

???
So the zumo 500 has 486 MB ?

You can load maps, mp3 or jpegs on either the internal memory or SD and the zumo will read them fine.

Yes, not that big is it, but then the intention was always to beef it up with an sd card. Cant find any 6 gb cards on ebay but the 4 gb cards are cheap enough. ;)

The nuvis seem to read 4GB cards okay.
Not heard of anybody trying anything bigger

Note that some other Garmin units have had problems with the Sandisk Ultra II cards.

Oooh! Good advice matey. Iwas looking at a Samsung 150x 4 gb SD card. Anyone advise for or against these? :nenau

i would recommend finding out from garmin if the cards will work with garmin units. As you don't want to get a big card and then find out that it doesn't work.

Just incase anyone is thinking of doing this.

Seriously thinking of the Zumo myself, so far the comments seem to be very positive, anyone had any problems?
