Wanted Wanted: Long canon-mount camera lens

Hi all - My son (15) is looking for a long-lens for wildlife and aircraft photography. He's autistic and no longer able to be accommodated in our area's school provision and I am keen to help him focus ( ! ) on this as a healthy interest.

He has seen a Sigma DG 150-600mm for about £500. I don't really know if that is good value - but know that it feels like a lot of money. If anybody has something going unused that they are willing to sell that is within that price range I'd be grateful if you could let me know.

He has a Canon 600D SLR (that I bought many moons ago on this forum!) so any lens would need to be Canon compatible. His current longest lens is a 200mm.

Hi I have a Sony A200 Digital SLR with a camera bag and a Sigma 175-500 lens. I am based in Markington, North Yorkshire. It’s getting no use so would be happy for your son to have it if you can arrange collection.

Perhaps short term try a tele-converter to double or tripple the focal length of his existing lens with minimal extra weight, then if his interest develops further buy a longer lens later.
