Shame the rest of the bike looks so filthyAll done. Kept the old studs, I'm never touching these again now, much more work than originally thought. They look nice though!

K'in ell fella, did you not see the emoji.I was clearly joshing,I can only apologise if you are offended by my bollox.Filthy is a bit dramatic, it's a 10 year old GSA with 45k miles on it...
I'm glad I changed them over as the old ones were toast but it was more money and time than I expected, rusty nuts where you can't get decent access is no joke. If it was a cheap bike I'd not have bothered tbh.
They did not fit domed nuts, I supplied the parts and they're the genuine BMW nuts. I bought all the bits from Motorworks before starting the job.
No offence taken here, and no need to apologise it's all good. I know usually folk have really nice newer bikes on here so you never know when people are being serious. I take back my reply.K'in ell fella, did you not see the emoji.I was clearly joshing,I can only apologise if you are offended by my bollox.
The electronic exhaust valve on a BMW R1200GSA adjusts the exhaust pipe's effective length to optimize engine performance, providing more power during acceleration and stable cruising at lower speeds. It also helps reduce noise, especially at idle, by altering the exhaust's back pressure.Meant to ask, I now have a fully functioning exhaust flap thingy now, like everything else on my old set it was seized solid. Any idea what it actually does?
I feel for you!Update, got one side off by smashing on an E14 socket that I found in my shed. I have given up on the other side, they won't budge and I'm scared I'll snap a stud and have an absolute nightmare. This is purely a cosmetic job so not wanting to ruin my day. At least 50% of them are new... I was quite surprised how well the studs have survived, no idea why the nuts have gone so bad
Much wire brushing, hammering, penetrant so maybe that will help whoever I find who will take the job on.
Also when I tried to remove my heat shield the torx 25s are just spinning. Some how I think my bike may have seen a few winters with the previous owner.
