I've posted this elsewhere but thought those of your here might also enjoy a bit of a day out in Oz...

It's been almost 2 years since I've been on the dirt with my trusty GS1150 having traded it on a GTR1400, but back now and very happy...

Thought I'd take it easy and see how the new bike goes, as well as if I remember what to do....

Still clean, at the start of Wombeyan Caves Road.

Leaving it a little late I took off around 11am, fine sunny morning, turned into quite a windy day, which was good as I soon turned up the sweat.

Favorite photo stop, had trouble getting back on once the ESA is set up :rob , but it’s a brilliant ride, much lighter to handle than the 1150 I had.

Made it to the river without incident, by then I felt like taking a dip- plenty of campers about!

Just a nice shot somewhere along the way.

Langs Road turn off, decided not to go through via Mt Werong, save that for a full day instead continued to Wombeyan Caves/Taralga

Snack and a cig stop. Friendly folk in Taralga! I’d say every local that came past said Hi or had a chat.

Continued on the blacktop to Goulburn and a lazy cruise up the M5 home, after another snack and realised I could've cut across Swallow Tail instead of doing Goulburn... next time I might remember

Not a lot of dirt, but a fun day, great ride and I’m getting to like this GS a whole lot!!:clap

:D:D

Nice ride and good report thanks. Have done that road a few times in a 4WD, but that was before I moved to the UK and found bikes! Now I can't wait to get back to Aus and do all the same roads and tracks again on two wheels!

Was good to see the tunnel on the Wombeyan Caves road! Took a look at the map and Swallowtail pass looks great. Will remember it for a few years time :)

Cheers

Rob
