Can anyone please tell me how a can turn off or adjust the speed camera warning bongs. For example, if I'm approaching a speed camera zone its good to be given a single bong but if the speed limit is wrong such as roadworks that are now finished, I get a repeated bong even at one mile an hour over the limit. The quicker I go the faster the bongs sound.
I know this can be done as Ive seen it mentioned on another forum but didn't understand the advice given. Please could you give me a step by step guide as my computer skills are some what lacking. Thankyou.

Warning Bongs

Press the settings button (wrench) on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Scroll down to Proximity Points and press. Then press (change) and uncheck Garmin Safety Cameras or whatever is there in relation to speed cameras.
Cheers :thumb2

Doesnt that also turn off the visible red warning on the screen?

Spanner / Navigation / Attention Tone - Off.
Does that do it for you? I don't use the sound but seem to remember that this worked.

Ive read that you can have one warning bong as you approach the camera zone but adjust the speed that you get the repeated bongs ie. you can add +5,10, 20,etc mph to the speed of the road your on for example on a motorway if you had added 30mph to the settings you get the initial bong as you approach but then nothing until you go over 100 (example only).
Cheers for the replies so far.

Right - I seem to remember that I touched the red bar at the top of the screen when it was there near a speed zone and could stop the bongs - but it reset each time I switched off the unit - try that - the screen had to be red or you just get the turn menu

No, pressing the red top bar doesnt do a thing, but thanks anyway

Sorry about that - I did manage to stop them somehow but, as I said, I don't use the sound at all now - and it did reset itself after every switch-off - I'll try it with sound this weekend - maybe I'll remember.........
