I recently bought a w-reg 1150GS from SLM. The bike came with one year warranty. Can I request to have corroded parts replaced under this warranty?

Thanks,
JJ

Best thing to do is read the terms and conditions of the warranty first of all to see if it will cover anything relating to corrosion. It might also be worth speaking to SLM to see what they have to say.

I had several parts replaced under the warranty, I was the second owner, the most major part that was replaced was the bottom fork brace. So it should not be a problem.

I failed in a claim for corrosion a couple of years ago but did get a discount on stripping and painting the bottom fork brace by a BM tech.
Bike was second hand.

AUB ( Approved Used Bike ) warranties do not cover any cosmetic items and that includes corrosion. If the machine had been in it's first two years warranty then this would not be a problem even if you were the second or third owner.

I got my ADV 2nd hand from SLM and had the extended warranty.

I put a claim in with BMW Oxford a month before the extended warranty expired (as you do :D) as it was in for a svc with them - and they replaced the fork brace and bottom leg parts under the warranty..............

Give it a go.

Had the fork-brace and a rocker-cover replaced under the std warranty, can't imagine a 1-year warranty on a bike this old is going to cover such items.
