I'm not sure I'd use one on a bike. Think how long and just how much energy it takes to boil a cup of water in a kettle. And that's a 2-3kW element!

You'd do much better getting a jetboil or petrol burner, IMO.

Very bad idea.
It takes a lot of energy to boil water.
Can't be arsed doing the calc. but its a lot.
Far too much to take out the battery and expect the bike to start.
So that means you'll have to run the engine while your water is heating.
Better off getting your stove out - or a flask.

Typically, they take about 10-12 Amps, ie are 120-150Watt. They take about 4-5 minutes to bring a mug of water to the boil so are equivalent to leaving your headlight on for 12-15 minutes.
So if your battery is up to that sort of loading, you'll be fine and its a very convenient way to get a hot mug of something, soup, tea, noodles or whatever.

Thanks for the advice , I will get a mains one and take a flask .

Get a Jet Boil or a Primus Eta Solo.

(I had one of those 12v heating coils,it didn't need the bit on the end as the cable got so hot it eventually melted.Cheap crap)
