Water in me oil?

I have just had the panels off doing a job and noticed sludge on the oil dipstick.

The rad tank overflow tank is normal so where has it come from.?

I am pretty sure the cap was well secure but it has been crap weather lately.

Anyway I suppose its a trip to the dealers tomorrow

Anybody get any ideas?

What will they suggest?

Anybody had this before?

By the way Just put some an HID light in the beast and went for a run in some shi**y weather and yes they make a difference.

They all do that sir.
It's just a bit of condensation forming due to the weather and you're probably not getting it warm enough. Go for a long blast.

Emulsification IIRC

The only problem is that the hot mess can expand too much, and decide to come out of the breather, all over the very hot exhaust on a Passat

I do 12 miles each way to work every day. I would have thought that would have been sufficient/enough.

Nope - go f'ra thrash and watch it disappear. Not literally or you'll have an accident mind.

Condensation in the oil is a problem with very short runs, especially in the cold weather. Since we have had Sues bike we have found that it takes 15 to 20 miles to get it up to running temperature, even in the summer and my Varadero takes 30 to 40 miles. Castrol say that engine oil needs 25 to 35 minutes of carefull riding to get up to working temp at which point condensation is evaporated and proper lubrication takes place. With very short journeys the oil should be changed more oftens and the bike needs a good run now and then. On our bikes the oil is changed every 4000 miles and the shotest run would be at least 200. Thanks for the advice fellas. I think I will wait for some decent weather and then get off for a long ride.
I do not think this weekend is looking very good.
