water pump Help

Hey up ... Help !!! I have just noticed a tiny drip of water from the little hole underneath the waterpump , ordered new parts from motoworks . Has anybody done this job and what should I look out for !! goning Spain on the 9th and could do without this , but better now than while in Spain cheers mel. 05 f650 gs
 
Eh up Fred,

Had the same problem with wife,s 05 650 last summer, about 30k miles so did,nt do so bad, Gleened all I needed to know of intewb, this helped no end

Not bad once you get in to it, think hardest part was getting casing of, just wiggled gear selector till casing came away,

1 point, head down hardware, get a 12mm brass pipe joiner, then cut oil line and can re join it with connector.

its piss easy job just make sure have the large seal for the waterpump cover as tis not in the kit

hardest part is re filling the coolant to be honest
 
Just remember when you fit the new seals leave a gap betweeen them for the tell tale hole if you block that up when your seals go again it will put the coolant into the engine.:rob
 
and dont use any oil or grease to assemble them, the grease blocks up the hole.

also slide a thin screwdriver up the weep hole when fitting the last seal, i forgot this and had take them apart again and leave the gap

Thanks for all your help job done pretty straight forward , Had to cut the oil pipe , ever thing went apart from the clucth lever arm snaped, bastard wont come off ! so if anyone has a spare and live in the north west I will buy it off you and collect this weekend if possible...... cheers Mel
