I'm looking for some waterproof gloves. I'm currently using BMW Atlantis gloves which, after today's ride out, became thoroughly wet inside. Ideally they'll also offer decent protection and be warm. Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

"Belstaff" make water proof over overmitts, I heard they work well. That way you don't need to get new gloves ??

If the sleeve is outside, the water is running straight down the jacket and into the glove, filling it up from the inside.
I am very happy with HG gloves (and their kit in general).
If your gloves are Gortex lined it is possible that the outer glove (Cordura or something similar) is getting soaked. This stops the Gortex 'breathing' quite so well and the your sweat is making the inside wet. A problem made worse if you take your gloves off and put them on again with wet or damp hands as yoour bodyheat evaporates the water on your skin, which then condenses against the glove liner, dripping back down.
Also, if your hands get cold they may well feel wet, when they are actualy quite dry. Similar problem occures when cold water accumulates in the crotch area. It feels very cold which your skin translates as wet.

have some "racer" waterproof gloves ...nice soft palm, decent protection on upper side and still waterproof after 30k miles. also not too thick so i get benefit from heated grips....got them at "Infinity" - £99 i think....excellent glove except the brand name "Racer" makes them look a bit shite....

For winter gloves (I assume thats the category of waterproof glove you want), I recommend HG Pathan 2-finger gloves. Waterproof, single sheet of hide on the palm for strength, warm due to two-finger design and cheaper than most at about £30 for the textile backed one and £35 for all leather. Now onto my 4th pair.
Only point to note is that if you persistently tug on the cuff bit, it can tear the internal stitching. Doesn't affect the waterproofing, but its annoying. When this has happened, I got them replced under waranty, so keep your receipt. Hasn't stopped me buying them again and again...

I burnt a hole in the back of mine (drying out on a lamp shade in France, doh). Stuck a bit of decent gaffer tape over the hole and still going striong 11,000 miles later.

If the water hasn't come down your sleeves and into the gloves because the cuffs were outside your jacket as mentioned by Wapping and if the gloves are less than two years old, take them back and get some new ones from BMW!

You forgot to mention the benefit of the huge two fingered "V" sign you can flick But they are good gloves, only slight doubt was the protection. I think "Ride" reviewed them well, apart from the protection.
Bloody nightmare to get them inside the jacket though, as most of them are. That's always my problem area, leaking glove / jacket interface.

I'm riding in Aerostich Roper Gloves (c/o Cheesy Mike) - and they have NO waterproof properties whatsoever; however, my dandies stay dry - thanks to the muffs!
It always strikes me as anomalous that most gloves designed to be worn in the season of the year when you're, arguably, most likely to come off the bike, ie winter, offer all the crash protection of a wet paper bag. I include the HG Pathans here.... 
Until the untimely demise of Belstaff as a purveyor of functional motorcycle clothing, the obvious answer to this problem was the Belstaff Thermo-Sport and for slightly milder weather, Belstaff Dri-Sport.
These are the Thermo-Sport....
The one piece of good news is that Belstaff USA are selling them for $79. They were originally £100+ when they were on sale here.

You have...from Belstaff USA....? I'd be very interested to find out how that goes. I spoke to the MD of British Motorcycle Gear, aka Belstaff USA, at Laguna Seca during last year's Moto GP / AMA Superbike meeting. He told me that they have the licence to produce all the gear which Belstaff no longer market.Will said:

Just had my first day with the Bm Summer Rain gloves (bargain from the bargain forum).
Ideal if you have heated grips - Gore-Tex, and thin enough on the palms to let the grips keep your pinkies warm.
