OK, I have had a autocom fitted to my GSADV problem is I need to connect the wires via male / female connectors under the seat every time I use it, this is a pain in the arse.

I need to fit a waterproof switch somewhere externaly which I asume i can do but with electrical things as they are what type would be best.I guess the best would be one which has a light on it so I can check the status.
Cheers.

Use a relay. No switch, no indicator, Autocom is always on as long as the bike is, and not draining current when the bike's off :thumb

Wire the Autocom into the horn fuse. It's No 4 in the the fuse tray if I recall correctly. Put an inline fuse holder between the horn fuse and the Autocom unit, just to be doubly sure. When the ignition is off, the horn is off.

It was fitted by BMW's direct to the battery and i'm left with 2 wires that I have to connect, I believe if left connected the battery it will drain it.

Autocom Self-Switching!

The Autocom unit only switches on internally when one or more headsets are plugged in - so no need for an inline switching or any un-plugging? - the supply to the unit should be live all the time the ignition is switched on and it will switch itself on and off as required when headsets are plugged in.
As per Bronco Billy, mine is connected into the live supply for the brake light switch - no problems.

Mine is non-ABS, don't know if that makes a difference?. I also use this supply for the power lead for my Garmin Quest.
