Hi

Anybody know what stuff to use to reproof outer on a goretex textile aerostich suit please? I don't know if it needs doing yet, but if it does what is the right stuff to use?

Thanks

its a two stage process using nikwax products - one of them is called tech wash which is basically a simple soap and the other is the goretex reproofer, TX direct.

Goretex basically stops working efficiently when it starts to get dirty so a wash and a reproof shoud have it as good as new :thumb2

What he said - plus I find it useful to use seam sealer on the seam of the long zip, but mine is six years old.

I use grangers 2 in 1 on all my outdoor gear it washes and proofs in one go and is recomended for goretex

TX Direct

+1 :thumb2

I just wanted to add that the TX Direct comes as either a wash-in product that you put in the machine or in a spray bottle that you apply to the outside of the jacket. I find that the wash in version often leaves a sticky residue on the fleecy inner lining of one of my jackets so I use the spray version for that one.

Your milage may vary of course.
