I'm thinking of setting up my own website. Mostly it will feature some bike and family stuff. Although it won't be a very large site it could be "photo heavy".

Who would I choose to host the site? I have looked at FastHosts.co.uk and they seem quite reasonable. Has anyone here used them, or can you recommend an alternative?

If the site is going to have a lot of pictures would it be better to host them on Photobucket and link to them with IMG tags?

Advice and recommendations gratefully received.

Thanks :thumb

assuming you have an isp, you usually get a few 100mb webspace with your account. i would start off using this and see how the site develops.
In the mean time you can register a domain name and have it set to point to that webspace.

if you find that you run out of space very quickly due to pictures you can always host them from something like smugmug or photobucket

Aidan,

Talk to me on Skype someday and I will set one up for you free of charge on one of our servers. You need to think of a good domain name. Don't buy it, just think of it at this stage.

Errol.
