weeping seal at front sprocket

so after the rebuild, it appears that the bottom of the engine block is wet after a couple of hundred miles run at the weekend. I noticed that the seal at the output shaft behind the front sprocket was pretty chewed up, so am convinced that this oil is weeping from there. anyone tried to replace it. if so, i'd really like to hear that it's a case of pushing it in from the outside!!!! waiting for advice...
