hi all,

can anyone confirm whether the specced weights of the rt1200 (or for that matter the rt1250) include the panniers. I am quite confident that the panniers are not included in the factory spec of the GS, but not sure about the RT.

on paper the RT is a heavier machine with less fuel capacity, however if the panniers are part of the weight, then the weight differential is negligible

thanks for your replies

R.

Add the luggage to the GSA and top off the fuel in both and their respective weights will be within 2, maybe 3 pounds of the other.
Are the panniers integral in the RT?

GS Panniers don't weight much at all (assuming they're genuine BMW that is).

GS panniers don’t weigh much but the OP was asking about GSA panniers which are considerably heavier. My plastic GS panniers were much lighter than my brother’s aluminium GSA panniers.

I used Vario panniers for years and always thought they were heavy. I bought aluminium panniers when I switched to a GSA last year and they feel much lighter.

I wasn't clear & was meaning the aluminium GSA panniers on my '23 GSA
